Two-Culture Freud
On the Genealogy of Antipodal Knowledge Formations
The project 'Two-Culture Freud' deals with disputes and debates surrounding Freud's psychoanalysis in the second half of the 20th century. The focus is less on the history of the reception of the genius thinker than on the emergence of different, competing epistemologies of science. With the 'two-culture Freud', methodological and epistemological considerations are brought into play, which should open up new perspectives on the classical binary reading of attack and defence and the resulting historiographical Freud-centrism.
