Janu Höreth
Janu Höreth is working and pursuing the doctorate in subproject S08 – The diverse psyche in therapy: Sex/gender knowledge in West German psychotherapy (1990-2020) of the Collaborative Research Center Sexdiversity – Determinants, meanings and implications of gender diversity in socio-cultural, medical and biological contexts (CRC 1665) at the Institute for History of Medicine and Science Studies (IMGWF) at the University of Lübeck.
Janu studied Media Studies at the Technical University of Berlin, with a focus on Gender Studies at the Center for Interdisciplinary Women's and Gender Studies. In the master's thesis Epistemic Violence in the Neurosciences. A critical analysis of magnetic resonance imaging and its role in the pathologization of ADHD, Janu examined the use of epistemic violence against neurodiverse people from a neurofeminist perspective.
From 2022 to 2024, Janu worked as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in the research program History of the Max Planck Society and supported the Gender Equality and Diversity Officers in the conception, planning and implementation of the institute colloquium “Let's talk about gender“.
